Boxing classes will be held in schools of the Irkutsk region. The region's possible participation in the Boxing to School project was discussed by Governor Igor Kobzev and Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Alexander Besputin. The project provides for the practice of this sport in school lessons.

According to the head of the region, the Angara region has well-established cooperation with this federation. So, Kobzev admitted that he had met with the leadership of the federation more than once, in particular, regarding the holding of the Russian Men's Boxing Championship in Irkutsk. In turn, Besputin expressed gratitude to the governor for the development of boxing in the region and stressed that the Angara region has always been a forge of champions.

Kobzev added that boxing is a basic and popular sport in the Irkutsk region. Thus, more than 3,000 athletes undergo sports training under the guidance of 79 full-time coaches. Of these, 1.1 thousand boxers have sports ranks and titles. 31 departments have been opened in regional and municipal sports schools.
