Dangerous bacteria found in one of the water intakes of the Tyumen region

Residents of the village of Bolshoe Sorokino in the Tyumen region complained about poor-quality drinking water. As a result of the inspection, dangerous bacteria were identified, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported on Tuesday, February 24.

Studies of water samples from the intake and the clean water tank showed non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements. Excess iron levels and generalized coliform bacteria were recorded.

The supervisory authority, through the court, ordered the service organization to recalculate utility bills for eight residents of the settlement by more than 12 thousand rubles.

According to the <url> news agency, the operating organization also carried out measures to purify the supplied water.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the daily use of tap water without additional purification can pose a serious health hazard. It may contain harmful chemical compounds, microorganisms, and heavy metals.
