Kosachev spoke about the close collusion of London and Paris with Kiev on the issue of nuclear weapons transfer

France and the United Kingdom are ready to turn the conflict in Ukraine into a nuclear issue. This was announced on February 24 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.

"There is no doubt that the United Kingdom and France, as nuclear powers, supposedly bearing special responsibility for maintaining stability and conflict resolution, are in fact now the main sponsors of the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine. Moreover, they are ready to turn it into a nuclear conflict," he told reporters.

According to Kosachev, Kiev has been making no secret of its intention to obtain nuclear weapons for the past few years. Britain and France are working in "close collusion" with the Kiev regime on the transfer of nuclear weapons.

Earlier in the day, the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that Britain and France intend to arm Ukraine with nuclear weapons. We are talking about the covert transfer of European components, equipment and technologies in this field to the Ukrainian side.

The Federation Council called on Britain and France to conduct parliamentary investigations after the statements of the SVR. It is specified that the implementation of such plans will lead to a sharp escalation of the conflict, as well as create direct threats to the security of Russian territory and Europe.

Back in November 2025, the Ambassador to the UK and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny proposed to deploy nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
