The number of robotic operations in Moscow has increased 4—fold over the past 5 years, to 4.6 thousand per year. In 2026, their number is expected to exceed 5,000, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his blog channel in the MAX messenger.

"Medical robots are no longer fiction, but a really working tool that helps doctors treat and patients return to a full life faster," Sobyanin wrote.

The mayor noted that surgery is the most sought—after, well-known and actively developing field. In particular, more than 20 surgical assistant robots, including Da Vinci systems, have been purchased for Moscow clinics. The pioneer of the introduction of robotic technologies was the Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center named after S.P. Botkin. The first Da Vinci robot assistant appeared here in 2013, now there are six of them.

In a number of metropolitan clinics — GKB No. 31 named after Academician Savelyeva, GKB named after Demikhov and GKB named after Yudina — specialized orthopedic robots Cuvis Joint and Cori are used for joint replacement. Artificial intelligence based on CT scans creates a 3D model of the joint and develops an operation plan. The preparation takes 15-20 minutes, and the operation itself takes 45 minutes.

Service robots are also used in hospitals. For example, collaborative robots, "cobots," work in laboratories, sorting and mixing samples, unscrewing lids and loading test tubes into tripods. This made it possible to reduce the complexity of sample processing several times.

In three hospitals — GKB No. 67 named after him. Vorokhobov, Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after Sklifosovsky and GKB No. 15 named after Filatova — there are "robocalls" who accompany patients, transport things, give advice on a healthy lifestyle and turn on music. Android Stepan from Promobot works at the Botkin Hospital. At the Scientific Research Institute named after Sklifosovsky also uses cleaning robots: in 35 minutes they clean an area of 2 thousand square meters. m — three times faster than manually.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
