Relative warming is expected in Moscow by early March. This was reported to Izvestia on February 24 by Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.

According to the forecaster, the temperature regime in the capital will be almost the same on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"The minimum temperature in Moscow tomorrow is from -3 to -5, the daytime temperature is from -1 to -3. That is, the air temperature will be slightly higher than the climatic norm," she said.

On the remaining days, the weather will be determined by the anticyclone of the west. Light snow is expected in some places on Thursday and Friday, no precipitation is expected on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the forecaster, the daytime temperature on Thursday, February 26, will be from -3 to -5, on Friday from -1 to -6, on Saturday it is expected from 0 to -5, on Sunday, March 1, from -4 to +1. A slight thaw is expected in Moscow by early March, Pozdnyakova concluded.

Nikolay Tereshonok, head of the Meteorology and Climate Department of the Central Directorate for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, said on February 22 that the winter of 2026, which broke records in terms of snow levels, could be a consequence of global warming.
