A steady trend towards naturalness and rejection of hypercorrection has formed in aesthetic medicine. Patients are increasingly choosing gentle and inconspicuous interventions instead of pronounced volumes and clearly defined facial contours. Natalia Mikhailova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist and founder of the Reforma network of aesthetic medicine clinics, told Izvestia on February 25.

"Today, more and more people understand that it is possible to look young and fresh not at the expense of hyper volume, but through improving skin quality, preserving facial expressions and emphasizing individual features of appearance," the expert emphasized.

According to her, even with lip or cheekbone correction, the result should now be invisible to others. The lips become more hydrated and slightly voluminous, but without feeling overloaded, and the contours of the face become harmonious, without weighing down and distorting the proportions.

The development of the drugs themselves played a separate role. Modern fillers, including Russian-made ones, have become more plastic, manageable and less edematous. This allows you to work precisely, taking into account the anatomical features of the patient.

In addition, Mikhailova added, patients also began to consider the long-term effects of hypercorrection. With age, excess volumes can look inharmonious, which has become a clear argument in favor of a more delicate approach.

"At the same time, the visual culture is also changing: real people with lively facial expressions and natural signs of age are increasingly appearing in advertising and media, rather than retouched glossy images. This directly affects people's needs and forms new trends in aesthetic medicine," the cosmetologist explained.

As a result, the focus shifts to working with the quality of the skin. Aging is considered as a complex process, including pigmentation, vascular changes, decreased density and tone. In 2026, according to the expert, methods aimed at restoring the skin, rather than masking age-related changes, are becoming particularly popular.

On February 20, Alena Stepantsova, a dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist, and leading specialist in dermatology and cosmetology at the flagship Be Healthy center on Ryazansky Prospekt, spoke about how to care for skin and which popular salon procedures are most effective for women after 40 years. According to her, soft foams, creamy or micellar cleansers should be chosen for cleansing the skin. They will gently cleanse the skin without breaking its protective barrier.
