The calculation of the Hurricane MLRS destroyed the AFU command post in the Red Army area

An artillery crew of the Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the 385th Guards Artillery Brigade of the Center group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed the command post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation. This was announced on February 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Today we have worked with the sixteenth land mines in the Red Army direction. We worked out normally, it was about 20 km, the command post was demolished. We have five people in the crew," said Senior Sergeant Rashid Salikhov, commander of the combat vehicle.

It is specified that the enemy object was identified during reconnaissance by calculations of troops of unmanned systems (UAVs). The fortified area was used by Ukrainian militants to control formations and deploy personnel. The ministry noted that the building was equipped with a system of hidden passages.

After confirming the coordinates, the data was transmitted to the gunners: the Uragan MLRS crew quickly moved to a combat position and fired 220-mm shells at enemy structures from a distance of about 20 km. Target damage control was carried out by BPS operators in real time.

"My job is simple: I just go out with the commander, put the package in a combat position, aim at the angle meter <...> and work on the target. <...> Hitting is a team effort," said senior gunner, junior Sergeant Almaz Zakirov.

According to the Ministry of Defense, after the liquidation of the command post, the crew quickly changed position and camouflaged the combat vehicle, which reduced the risk of retaliatory fire from the enemy. In addition, an aerial surveillance post was set up to protect against Ukrainian drones.

The ministry said that thanks to the work of the artillery calculations of the Center group of forces, conditions are being created for the advance of Russian assault units in the Red Army direction.
