President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Khairullo Ibadullayev, a citizen of the republic, with the Jasorat medal ("Courage") for saving a child in St. Petersburg. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state Sherzod Asadov.

"By decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, our compatriot Ibadullaev Khairullo Saidullayevich was awarded the Jasorat medal for his courage and dedication in saving a young child in an emergency and difficult situation in the city of St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation,— Asadov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He stressed that Ibadullayev risked his own life and health.

The janitor saved the child on Sunday, February 22. The incident occurred on Petrozavodskaya Street in the Petrogradsky district of St. Petersburg. The child was playing near the open window, and the janitor, noticing this, shouted at him to move away. After a while, the boy fell off, but managed to grab the ledge. The child survived, but both he and the janitor were hospitalized. Izvestia has footage of the moment the boy fell.
