- A courier from Chelyabinsk, who was fired because of the rescue of a dog, spoke about the situation
Mikhail Savitsky, a former courier from Chelyabinsk, who was fired after covering the dog with a blanket, turned to the shelter to save the animal. He told Izvestia about this on February 23.
The incident occurred on February 22. It is known that the former manager Anastasia Cherkasova took care of the dog and never urged employees to ignore her, but the new manager Julia decided to stop caring for the animal. She threatened the workers that they would "stay outside" with the dog if they hid her. Mikhail sheltered the dog in the cold and was fired. He invited the manager to join the rescue — at first she agreed, and then refused.
"They fired me just because I covered a dog with a blanket. Why was I shocked at all: I tried to resolve the issue properly, <...> because the dog often came there, for a year and a half. It's not like she showed up there the day before yesterday. Everyone looked after her. The former manager, Anastasia Cherkasova, she looked after the dog, took care of it, and even when she was told from above that the dog needed to be kicked out, she ignored this requirement," he said.
According to him, the new manager immediately began to "dance to the tune" of the management. The man admitted that he did not expect such a response from the situation. He clarified that he understands that the manager made a mistake and tried to resolve the issue with her.
Savitsky also stressed that after the new manager agreed to help the dog, he found a shelter on his own and agreed with the employee to transfer the animal to them. At the same time, he clarified several times that the manager had agreed to help and restore the reputation together, but this morning she refused to resolve the issue and expressed her willingness to save her reputation on her own.
He clarified that an employee of a neighboring institution named Anastasia, who was very worried about the animal, agreed to help with the dog. Savitsky added that the animal was sheltered by the same employees of the neighboring branch.
The man also shared that he does not pay attention to negative comments on this topic, because he considers himself right and is ready to "push through" his position.
On January 28, a criminal case was opened in Chelyabinsk on the fact of mass poisoning of dogs. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the case was initiated under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to several animals"). The reason was a media check on the discovery of dozens of dead dogs, during which nine animal corpses with signs of toxic poisoning were found.
