Milonov stated that the gender party is alien to Russian traditions

Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection, criticized the practice of holding gender parties in Russia, calling it alien to national traditions. He announced this on February 22.

According to the parliamentarian, such parties are borrowing foreign habits and do not correspond to Russian culture.

"I see this tradition as another manifestation of antics and thoughtless copying of some American habits," Milonov told TASS.

He noted that Russia has other traditions related to expecting a child.

"As a rule, we don't like to report news ahead of time — this is a sign," the deputy stressed.
