European countries should not touch on relations between Russia and Ukraine and where the border of these two countries runs. This was announced on February 22 by the leader of the German Alternative for Germany party, Alice Weidel.

"Europeans should not be interested in where the Russian-Ukrainian border runs at all," Weidel said in an interview with the Hungarian Mandiner channel posted on YouTube.

She also stressed that the support from the European leadership of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "hinders peace negotiations."

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky said yesterday that Europe had personally excluded itself from participating in negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He also said that the choice of Geneva as a venue for negotiations was made for logistical reasons.

The head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, following two-day meetings on February 18 in Geneva, said that the negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine were difficult, but businesslike. The special Envoy of the American president, Steven Witkoff, also said that the parties had made significant progress during the discussions.
