- In Russia, the rules for the return of air tickets for flight delays will be changed from March
Starting in March, Russians will be able to return non-refundable tickets if the flight is delayed by more than 30 minutes. If the passenger is late, his return ticket will not be cancelled. This was stated by Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of the Aviport agency.
"Clarifications have been given regarding the flight delay time, after which it is possible to make a forced return," Panteleev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He added that passengers can use a return ticket if they do not show up for the flight. Previously, in such a situation, the company cancelled the return ticket.
The new edition of the Federal Aviation Regulations also specifies where children who travel with their parents should be accommodated, and companies are required to provide neighboring places for children under 12 years of age.
On the same day, the Ministry of Transport announced that from March 1, there will be a 50% discount on air tickets for minors from 2 to 12 years old accompanied by an adult. The ministry stressed that a child under the age of 12 needs to be accompanied by an adult on an airplane. In cases where this is not possible, parents have the right to request the services of an airline escort.
On January 18, State Duma deputy Alexander Yakubovsky spoke about the new rules of air transportation, which come into force on March 1. So, he noted that Russian airlines will have to notify passengers in advance about the flight rules.
