Lieutenant Akhtyrsky was awarded the medal "For Bravery" for performing combat missions.

Lieutenant Timofey Akhtyrsky, an officer of the military-political department of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Zapad group of Forces, spoke about the performance of combat missions in the special military operation zone. This was announced on February 22 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the officer, he joined his military service voluntarily in 2023. Lieutenant Akhtyrsky was assigned to one of the division's assault units.

Subsequently, during the assault operations, his unit continuously defended the occupied stronghold from attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Lieutenant Akhtyrsky was awarded the medal "For Bravery" for performing combat missions.

In addition to defending points and assault operations, he trained subordinates in the tactics of assault groups.

While performing one of the combat missions during an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), he was seriously injured. Despite this, he kept the entire assault squad intact.

After his recovery, Lieutenant Akhtyrsky joined his unit as a combat training instructor. Subsequently, after completing his studies, he accepted the position of an officer in the military-political department of the division.

It is noted that the officer does not only work with Russian fighters on the line of combat contact — his military-political department conducts events for the local population. For example, Lieutenant Akhtyrsky organized a New Year's Eve celebration for children with disabilities in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).

On February 22, Junior Sergeant Roman Bykov, as part of the crew of an infantry fighting vehicle, participated in a clash with the enemy, despite artillery fire and a drone attack from the side. Bykov performed the task professionally, which allowed the crew to repel the enemy's attack. An armored combat vehicle and six personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were eliminated.
