Pension indexation in Russia should be carried out every three months to keep up with inflation. This was announced on February 22 by the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov.

"I am absolutely convinced that we need pensions to be indexed once a quarter. More than once a year compared to last year, when inflation is already completely different. With current approaches, pension indexation does not keep pace with the real increase in prices and tariffs," the TASS parliamentarian noted.

He added that the pension should also be higher.

"We once ratified the International Labor Convention, according to which the pension must be at least 40% of the salary. Today, so that you understand, 24%. We have ratified it, we must comply," Mironov stressed.

Starting from March 1, pensions will be increased for citizens who turned 80 in February. This was announced on February 21 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. According to her, the indexation of social benefits has already passed this year, and from April 1 it is planned to increase the social pension for almost 4.5 million Russians.
