On February 21, Norwegian skier and multiple Olympic champion Johannes Klebo commented on his results without the participation of his main competitor, Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov.

"Here we are competing with those who are at the start, and we are focused on this. I have done everything to prepare myself for these Olympic Games as well as possible. All questions of this order are not in my competence," Klebo said, answering a question about the value of a rematch without Bolshunov's participation.

At the same time, the Norwegian refused to transfer anything to the Russian, allegedly because of the language barrier.

"You know, we have difficulties when it comes to language," Sport-Express quoted Klebo as saying.

Klebo became the winner of all six races at the Olympic Games in Italy in men's competitions. In addition to his triumph in Italy, the decorated skier has three victories at the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and two gold medals at the 2022 Games in Beijing. Bolshunov, in turn, called what was happening in men's ski racing at the 2026 Olympics a circus and admitted that he was no longer interested in watching the broadcast of the competition.
