Korostelev congratulated Norwegian Klebo on winning the marathon at the Olympics

Russian skier Savely Korostelev congratulated Johannes Klebo on his victory in the Olympic marathon in Italy.

Immediately after the finish, Korostelev, who took fifth place, approached the Norwegian to express his recognition, Sport-Express notes.

For Klebo, this race was the sixth victorious out of six possible at the current Games. Thus, the Norwegian athlete set a new world record, surpassing the achievement of American speed skater Eric Hayden, who won five gold medals at the 1980 Olympics.

Earlier in the day, Korostelev took fifth place in the mass start, completing his performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics. On February 10, the athlete took part in the classic style sprint, taking 35th place. Three days later, on February 13, Korostelev entered the 10 km freestyle, finishing 15th.
