French biathlete Michlon wins the Olympic mass start
French biathlete Osean Michlon won the 12.5 km Olympic mass start in Anterselva, Italy, on February 21.
She covered the distance in 37 minutes and 18.1 seconds (with two misses). The second place also went to the representative of France, Julia Simon, who lost 6.6 seconds to the leader with one miss. Czech Teresa Vobornikova rounded out the top three (+7.4 seconds).
For Michelon, the 2025 world champion, this is the second gold award at the current Games after her success in the relay. Norway continues to dominate the overall medal tally (18 gold medals), followed by the USA and Italy.
Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi won the pursuit race at the 2026 Winter Olympics on February 15. It was noted that the athlete, who started fifth, covered the 10 km distance in 30 minutes and 11.8 seconds, having accurately worked on all four firing lines without a single miss.
