In Blagoveshchensk, five people died as a result of a fire in a private apartment building. This was announced on February 21 in the main directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Amur region.
"Late in the evening on February 21, the rescue service received a message about a fire in an apartment building on Severnaya Street. At the time of the arrival of the first units, the veranda and roof of the apartment building were burning with an open flame," the ministry said in a publication on the MAX messenger.
According to rescuers, the spread of the flames was facilitated by the late detection and untimely notification of the incident. During the extinguishing, the gas and smoke protection units found the bodies of five victims in the house — two men and three women.
Fire on an area of 40 sq. m. Three combat crews of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were eliminated. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire could be carelessness when smoking. Investigators are working on the spot, all the circumstances of the tragedy are being established.
In Irkutsk on February 20, on an area of 500 sq. m. The park hotel caught fire. The incident on Starokuzmikhinskaya Street was reported to firefighters at 18:37 (13:37 Moscow time). It was clarified that 20 people evacuated from the building on their own.
