American intelligence agencies claim that China is developing a new generation of nuclear weapons and has allegedly conducted at least one secret test in recent years as part of a complete transformation of its arsenal. This was reported on February 21 by CNN News channel.

According to CNN sources, Beijing is not only developing new-generation weapons, but also allegedly violated the 1996 international moratorium by conducting a secret test in June 2020. Experts believe that China's ultimate goal is to gain qualitative superiority over the current leaders of the nuclear club.

"Investments in the nuclear arsenal bring China closer to the status of equal to Russia and the United States and can provide technical capabilities that none of the two dominant nuclear powers currently possess," the article says.

According to the newspaper, Beijing plans to create missiles with several miniature warheads and expand its range of weapons.
