Strict diets with long lists of prohibitions are no longer considered a universal solution for stomach health. She told about it on February 21 in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru" gastroenterologist of the Soft Medical Center clinic Tatiana Golovchanskaya.

According to the doctor, modern approaches to nutrition involve a variety and balance between proteins, fats and carbohydrates, while all foods are considered acceptable in moderation.

"Why are tables with the exclusion of products or even a whole group of products no longer relevant? Because the same product and even different amounts of the same product can cause one person to have increased gastrointestinal symptoms, while another does not," explained Golovchanskaya.

The gastroenterologist added that strict restrictions can contribute to the formation of eating disorders and provoke breakdowns with overeating and discomfort. She recommended using the principles of rational nutrition, such as the "Rule of Three", and keeping a food diary to identify foods that exacerbate gastroenterological complaints.

Certified sports nutritionist Allison McKay reported on February 19 that nutrition plays a key role in the preparation of Olympic athletes, providing strength, speed and recovery. She explained that the diet is based on the training cycle, loads and goals of the athlete, and the balance of carbohydrates, proteins and easily digestible foods helps to maintain a high form and accelerates recovery after intensive training.
