Restrictions on the work of foreign messengers forced scammers to change tactics and schemes of deceiving Russians — they switched from intimidation to complicity. This was announced on February 21 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws and other regulations.

"The restriction of the work of foreign messengers has dramatically affected the number of appeals from citizens affected by remote fraud. Their number is decreasing, but the fraudsters' schemes are becoming more and more dodgy," Masharov told TASS.

It is noted that scammers are gradually changing tactics. Now, instead of intimidating them with threats of criminal prosecution, they began to identify the potential victim's "interests" and involve her in actions at their direction, creating a sense of belonging.
