- The weather forecaster spoke about the absence of heavy snowfall in Moscow in the coming days.
Light snow will fall in the capital region over the next few days, but such heavy snowfall as on February 19 will not happen again. Marina Makarova, a leading employee of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, spoke about the weather for the coming days in Moscow on February 21.
"Snow is expected, precipitation is expected, but the weather pattern is changing, this is due to the fact that the circulation in the atmosphere is changing. We will have cyclones coming from the west, they will be with less precipitation," she said in an interview with TASS.
The forecaster explained that heavy snow or rain is usually typical of southern cyclones. In the coming week, some snow will fall daily, but not in the same volume as during the snowfall on February 19.
Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Hydrometeorological Center department, said on February 18 that, despite the snowfall, severe frosts are not expected in the near future, although the temperature will remain below zero.
