The case of the murder of a businessman committed in the "zero years" was solved in the Urals

In the Sverdlovsk region, the murder of a businessman, committed with particular brutality in the city of Bogdanovichi 25 years ago, was solved. A resident of Verkhnyaya Pyshma has been taken into custody, the joint press service of the regional courts reports.

The investigation believes that the accused broke into the apartment of a local businessman and shot him with a hunting rifle in front of an underage girl who turned out to be the victim's daughter. The man died on the spot from his injuries.

According to the <url> news agency, the murder occurred in November 2001 and remained unsolved for a long time. Currently, a resident of Verkhnyaya Pyshma has been detained on suspicion of committing a crime, and he is charged under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Murder with extreme cruelty."

The court granted the investigation's request and remanded the accused in custody until April 17, 2026. The investigation of the criminal case, in particular the preparation of the evidence base, continues.
