Rosneft has become one of the leading technology companies in Russia

Rosneft has entered the top five companies in the AK&M rating with the highest level of performance in the field of scientific and technical development, the company's press service reported. The rating is based on an analysis of the performance of 300 of the largest Russian companies and includes 42 holdings that disclose data on sustainable development and scientific and technical activities.

According to Rosneft representatives, the active development of the R&D sector is among the company's priority goals. Rosneft has been implementing an innovative development program for several years, within the framework of which a portfolio of innovative projects is being formed. In 2024-2025 alone, the company received 151 patents for inventions aimed at both optimizing production processes and protecting the environment. Thus, the developments of Rosneft scientists make it possible to determine all the chemical elements in the rock and the relative phase permeability, which increases the efficiency of extracting deposits with a complex geological structure. The company holds patents for the entire chain of the technological process for producing synthetic Gas-to-Liquids oil with zero sulfur content. Currently, Rosneft's portfolio includes 1,178 objects of intellectual property that have passed state registration.

Rosneft was the first company in the Russian Federation to create and successfully develop a software line covering all key oil and gas production processes, the company noted. The Echo Tools software uses AI to calculate downhole pressure and select the optimal operating mode of the well. The company takes work with geological data to a qualitatively new level thanks to the introduction of large language models, and with the help of RN-AKZT software, it automates the selection of the best materials and corrosion protection methods in the design of oil pipelines.
