The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has added political scientist Kynev and journalist Khabichev to the register of foreign agents.

Russian political scientist Alexander Kynev, as well as journalist and writer Auren Khabichev were included in the list of foreign agents. This was announced on Friday, February 20, according to data published on the website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

"In accordance with the orders of the Russian Ministry of Justice, A.V. Kynev <...> A.A. Khabichev <...> and the foreign non—governmental organization European Youth Forum are included in the register of foreign agents," the text of the resolution says.

It is noted that Kynev was included in the list for spreading false information about the domestic electoral system, decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies, as well as for distributing materials from foreign agents. Khabichev was included in the lists for spreading false information and calls for violating the territorial integrity of the country.

The writer and poet Vladimir Sevrinovsky and the emigrated political scientist Alexey Cheremushkin were also recognized as foreign agents.

On February 6, the Ministry of Justice also added politician Denis Bilunov and Dozhd journalist Polina Milushkova to the list of foreign agents. At the same time, Igor Drandin, head of the IT department at AIDE, Maxim Ivantsov, the Continent Internet project and the Frame community were included in the list.
