Ukraine has agreed with European partners to receive equipment for six decommissioned thermal power plants (CHP). This was announced on February 20 by the country's Energy Minister Denis Shmygal.

"We have agreed with Latvia, Austria, Finland, Croatia, France and Germany on the possibility of receiving decommissioned equipment and its prompt delivery to Ukraine. We are talking about at least six thermal power plants that will be transferred to Ukraine," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Shmygal, this will make it possible to quickly restore the operation of key stations and provide Ukrainians with heat. He also noted that agreements had been reached to replenish the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine in the amount of more than €250 million.

On February 11, Alexander Kharchenko, director of the Ukrainian Energy Research Center, announced that Ukraine had exhausted its supply of equipment for repairing the country's energy facilities. According to him, the situation will continue to deteriorate.

Bloomberg news agency also reported on January 16 that Ukraine lacks supplies to repair the country's energy system. In particular, it was noted that there were no power transformers and other critical materials left on the territory of Ukraine to maintain energy supply.

In December last year, it became known that Ukraine was urgently forced to look for equipment to repair damaged facilities of its energy system in different European countries.
