- In St. Petersburg, ROSSETI opened the 220 kV Pargolovo substation after reconstruction
Alexander Beglov, the Governor of St. Petersburg, and Andrey Ryumin, the head of the ROSSETI Group, commissioned the 220 kV Pargolovo substation, which underwent a large-scale reconstruction. Investments in the project amounted to more than 6.8 billion rubles, the company's press service said.
"For almost 50 years, the old substation actually served as the main element of the electricity supply system for the north of St. Petersburg. Due to the active development of this part of the city, it was decided to carry out its complete reconstruction. In fact, it was rebuilt during a large-scale modernization. This is a state—of-the-art substation, everything is automated here and the participation of people is practically not required," said Beglov.
According to him, the capacity of the equipment installed at the substation has almost tripled. At the same time, more than 80% of the equipment is of domestic production. "The president's instructions on high—quality and reliable power supply to our city are being fulfilled," the governor concluded.
Ryumin stressed that St. Petersburg is changing, modern and comfortable residential neighborhoods are being built, infrastructure is being modernized, and high-tech enterprises are being created. And the network complex is developing together with the city.
"The Pargolovo substation is a mainline facility, and its reconstruction affects the stability of the entire energy system. The project will also provide capacity for new buildings in the Pargolovo and Shuvalovo neighborhoods, and increase the reliability of power supply to the Osinovaya Roscha logistics park, the largest in the region," said ROSSETI Group CEO.
He said that the substation was built on a new site using modern solutions. The total capacity of the transformers was 153 MVA. The equipment is located in enclosed spaces, which made it possible to protect it from external influences and reduce noise levels.
It is noted that digital systems have been introduced to enable remote control. A fully automated algorithm for entering the reserve for own needs has become an important element of modernization, significantly increasing reliability.
