The Maslenitsa Festival will end in Moscow on February 21-22 with ice shows, creative workshops and car simulator competitions. Festive events will be held at 30 venues in the city as part of the "Winter in Moscow" project, the press service of the organizing committee of the Moscow Seasons cycle of urban street events reported.
On the evening of February 20, the team of Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko will present the play "Swan Lake" on Teply Stan Street. Workshops on folk toys will be held on Tverskaya Square on February 21 and 22. Participants will be able to create a bird-amulet, a Maslenitsa doll and a festive garland made of felt and satin ribbons.
Workshops on baking pancakes - Guryev, Tatar tabikmek, wheat pancakes with chicken and mushrooms, and others — will be held at 10 Moscow Seasons venues. In the creative workshop on Grekova Street, children will be taught how to paint objects for the Pancake table: cups, cutting boards, pancake plates and spatulas.
The musical program on Saturday on Tverskaya Square will be opened by the folk group "Maryina Pesnya" and Andrey Grizzly. Concerts will be held all day at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve on Sunday — Lena Smorodina, NORIS, the Matana ethno project, the Razgulyai ensemble and the Cossacks Make a Hit group will perform.
In addition, car simulators will be operating at 14 festival venues over the weekend. The participants of the races will compete for valuable prizes and receive sticker packs and Polaroid snapshots.
Culinary fairs will also be held at a number of venues, where you can try pancakes according to recipes from the regions of Russia. Pumpkin pancakes and author's pancakes with boiled pork and beetroot pesto will be offered on Tverskaya Square, while pancakes with pine nuts and pine jam will be served on Stoleshnikov Lane. Khachapuri pancake will be prepared in Golyanovo, and pancake with pike caviar and red fish will be served in Brigantine Park.
The Maslenitsa Festival has been held in the capital since 2017. The events are held annually at the venues of the Moscow Seasons cycle.
