The professor called the ban on salary disclosure a violation of the law
Employers cannot prohibit employees from disclosing their salary, and dismissal for this is illegal and entails a fine. Irina Shestyakova, Professor of the Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law named after K.N. Gusov at the Kutafin Moscow State Law University, told about this on February 20.
According to her, such prohibitions are often included in employment contracts, but the federal law On Trade Secrets does not include salary information. The law "On Personal Data" also does not apply to information about earnings.
"So, and save them (salary information. — Ed.) the employee should not. Even if such an obligation was included in the employee's employment contract, this condition will be invalid and the employee cannot be fired for this," Shestyakova said in an interview with TASS.
