Residents of apartment buildings may be given an administrative fine of up to 5,000 rubles for non-compliance with parking rules in courtyards. This was announced on February 20 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws and other regulations.

"Based on the rules of stopping and parking, parking on the sidewalk in the courtyard is just as illegal as parking on the sidewalk in the city (Article 12.19 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). So, parking on the sidewalk will be fined 1 thousand rubles. In addition, there are a number of places where parking in the courtyard is not allowed," Masharov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the ban applies to parking on lawns and green spaces, on playgrounds and sports grounds, as well as in places for the disabled.
