A case of double murder out of jealousy was opened in Komsomolsk-on-Amur

In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a criminal case was opened against a 61-year-old man who confessed to killing his wife and neighbor out of jealousy. This is reported by the SU IC of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region.

The murder occurred on February 16, 2026 in one of the apartment buildings in the city. The investigation believes that the 61-year-old man accused his wife of infidelity when she came home.

During the conflict, the woman tried to leave the apartment and ran out onto the stairwell, but her husband caught up with her and stabbed her several times in the chest. Then the Komsomol member came to his neighbor and stabbed him several times in the chest. Both victims died on the spot.

As IA AmurMedia clarifies, after that the man went to his friend, to whom he informed about the incident. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder of two persons", the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
