Kaluga space scientist Vladimir Lytkin died at the age of 67.

Vladimir Lytkin, a cosmologist and popularizer of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky's scientific legacy, has died at the age of 66. This was announced on February 19 by the Ministry of Education of the Kaluga Region.

"The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kaluga Region is saddened to announce the untimely death of Vladimir Vladimirovich Lytkin. A well-known cosmologist, Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Philosophy, Cultural Studies and Sociology at Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky," the department's Telegram channel says.

The ministry expressed condolences to Lytkin's family and friends and noted that he was a talented teacher. The report says that he supervised the scientific work of many young researchers and helped them enter science.

The farewell ceremony for the scientist will take place on February 21 at the Church of Cosmas and Damian and will begin at 12:00.

Vladimir Lytkin was born on June 22, 1959. He graduated from the graduate school of the State Museum of the History of Religion and Atheism in 1987, and five years later became a member of the Society of the International Academy of Astronautics. Lytkin has written more than a hundred scientific publications and is the author of four monographs that are cited in renowned international scientific journals.
