- European Commissioner Kubilius called the words about an allegedly weak Russia frivolous.
Statements that Russia allegedly cannot stand up to some countries are not serious. This was announced on February 19 by the European Commissioner for Defense and Space from Lithuania, Andrius Kubilius, at a joint meeting of the Committees on European Union (EU) affairs and defense of the Spanish Parliament.
"It is not necessary to say that Russia is small and weak, but we are strong and big and we will defeat Russia. Let's be serious," The Diplomat in Spain quoted him as saying.
Kubilius also noted Russia's ability to "control millions of drones." He clarified that in the event of a potential threat of an attack from the Russian side, countries will need to spend billions on preparing for the conflict.
On February 16, the top military leaders of Great Britain and Germany appealed to the public of their countries to prepare for a potential armed clash with Russia.
At the same time, on February 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia would give a full-fledged military response with all available means in the event of an attack from Europe.
In December 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Moscow had no intention of attacking other states and going to war with Europe.
