Mikhail Degtyarev, the Russian Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), announced on February 19 that Russian ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov will receive the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia after the athlete won silver at the 2026 Olympic Games.

"Congratulations to Nikita Filippov, the 23-time champion of Russia in ski mountaineering, with the silver medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics, as well as the new sports title - Honored Master of Sports of Russia," Degtyarev wrote on his Telegram channel.
