Nikita Filippov, a Russian ski mountaineer who won a silver medal in the sprint final at the Olympic Games in Italy, has made history. This was announced on February 19 by Dmitry Svishchev, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

"Nikita's brilliant result. This is a historic result. This silver medal is probably more expensive than some gold ones. Considering the pressure that Russian sports is under and the small number of our athletes at the Olympic Games," he said in an interview with Sport-Express.
