Russia is ready to accept Iran's enriched uranium if there are agreements between the republic and the United States. This was announced on February 19 by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation.

"We are ready to do this work (on uranium export. Its parameters will be carried out by the Iranian leadership, and taking into account all the negotiations, I am sure a decision will be made on the fate of enriched uranium in Iran," Likhachev said.

He noted that Rosatom has the technological capabilities to export uranium and recalled that Russia already has similar experience in cooperation with Iran. In addition, according to him, the state corporation will maintain the priority of implementing the Bushehr NPP in the republic.

"In any case, the Bushehr station, this facility, the second and third blocks <...> will not leave Rosatom's priorities, we will do everything to implement this project. And despite all the difficulties that are emerging now, sooner or later we will definitely successfully implement it," Likhachev said.

It was reported on February 17 that the Iranian authorities expressed their readiness to suspend uranium enrichment and consider exporting part of the reserves outside the country as part of a potential agreement with the United States. It is noted that Russia is being considered as a possible intermediary for the export of stocks.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the talks with the United States in Geneva constructive. According to him, these developments will be taken into account in the upcoming negotiations, after which the parties "will move on to discussing the essence of a possible agreement."
