Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has opened a new building for the Losinoostrovsky district police department. As the mayor wrote in his channel in the IACH, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, he visited the facility together with Oleg Baranov, the head of the metropolitan headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"The building on Pilot Babushkina Street is 3.5 times larger than the previous one," the mayor said, noting that the building is about a 15—minute walk from Babushkinskaya metro station.

Comfortable conditions have been created for police officers to serve, study, train and relax. "The building was built according to an individual project. It houses combat and service training areas, including a shooting range, as well as the premises of the duty station, the investigative department, the criminal investigation department, and the inquiry," the mayor said.

The building also has a sports hall and a conference room with a modern multimedia system.

Sobyanin recalled that since 2010, more than 30 new facilities of the metropolitan police have already been commissioned, including the buildings of the Department of Internal Affairs in the Western, Southern and Eastern administrative districts.

In November last year, two modern buildings of regional police departments were opened in Moscow — in Yuzhnoportovoye and in the Severny district. In addition, the Museum of the Moscow Police on Sretenka reopened on the Day of the Law Enforcement Officer after a comprehensive reconstruction. "The space has become larger, the exposition has been updated, multimedia formats and special solutions for low—mobility visitors have appeared," the mayor said.
