Medvedev announced an increase in Russia's military output several times

Russia has been able to increase the volume of its military products several times. This was announced on February 19 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

"[Russia] has managed to increase the volume of production of many types of military products several times," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying during a working trip to the Sverdlovsk region.

Speaking at the First sectoral regional Forum of the United Russia party called "There is a result!", which is being held in Yekaterinburg, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation stressed that the tasks of developing industry and ensuring technological sovereignty have always been at the center of the country's attention. According to him, the Russian military-industrial complex has not only demonstrated excellent opportunities in import substitution, but has also become a source of innovative technical solutions.

Medvedev thanked the engineers, designers and all those involved in fulfilling government defense orders for their hard work, and added that their efforts had made Russia "self-sufficient in a number of areas."

"We have created unique weapons for the needs of the army. They are well known to everyone, and no army in the world has such weapons, or at least many of them. The most important thing is that our enemies have realized this," he said.

The speaker specified that representatives of the younger generation should clearly see their prospects both in science and production, as well as in the development of domestic technologies. He stressed that he was confident in the ability of Russians to overcome any problems and achieve the goals set by President Vladimir Putin.

On January 30, the President of the Russian Federation thanked the employees of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC) for their conscientious work. He clarified that the rhythmic work of defense industry enterprises became possible thanks to government support measures and added that civilian products are produced in significant quantities at defense plants. Earlier, on January 12, he met with Denis Manturov, first Deputy chairman of the government of the Russian Federation, and clarified that Russia's manufacturing industries had shown good results in 2025, including the defense industry.

On February 4, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov set the task of ensuring uninterrupted production and supply of highly demanded weapons, military and special equipment. Then, taking part in a meeting with the heads of defense industry enterprises, he also touched upon the issues of fulfilling contractual obligations, emerging problems and ways to solve them.
