Evolute commented on the collapse of the plant's workshop near Lipetsk
On the afternoon of February 19, a partial roof collapse occurred at the production site of the Evolute electric vehicle and hybrid plant in the assembly area of the welding workshop (about 1,500 square meters m or 10% of the total area). The possible cause of the collapse was an abnormal amount of precipitation for the region, representatives of the automobile company told the Izvestia correspondent.
"Work at the company on cleaning roofs from snow was carried out on an ongoing basis. A possible reason for the incident is the abnormal amount of precipitation that has fallen in the last 24 hours for the region," Evolute said.
The company noted that the workshop was planned to be launched in April 2026. Currently, the employees found in the collapse area are conscious and receiving medical attention. All necessary medical and financial assistance will be provided to them and their families, the representatives of Evolute emphasized.
"The company's management immediately informed the relevant authorities and is providing full assistance to the rescue units, as well as the operational headquarters under the leadership of the head of the district, Sergei Polyakov," the statement said.
The collapse of the roof of one of the workshops of the Motorinvest company in the village of Grebenkino became known on February 19 in the afternoon. Later it became known about the extraction of five people from the rubble. Then another person trapped under the rubble was removed and handed over to the doctors.
According to Igor Artamonov, Governor of the Lipetsk region, the preliminary reason why the roof of the Motorinvest welding workshop located in the Krasninsky district collapsed could be an accumulation of snow. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
