- The court closed the hearing on the complaint against the verdict of those convicted in the Dolina case to the media.
The Moscow Regional Court has closed to the media a hearing on a complaint against the verdict of those convicted in the fraud case against singer Larisa Dolina. This was reported on February 19 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
Dolina's representative asked for the court session to be closed from media coverage. According to him, due to the initiation of a criminal case, the singer received threats, after which she "fears for her life and health."
The defendants' lawyers opposed the closure, as "the criminal case was heard, and no incidents occurred." However, the court took into account the words of Dolina and her lawyer and closed the trial from public coverage.
On the same day, the defendants in the case, convicted of participating in the Dolina apartment scam, asked the court of appeal to overturn the verdict and return the materials to the prosecutor for additional investigation. It is noted that earlier the court's decision was appealed by convicts, lawyers and even the prosecutor's office.
In November last year, the Balashikha City Court issued a verdict in the case of the sale of an apartment by Dolina. Courier Nadezhda Tsyrulnikova, who took money from the singer, received seven years in prison with a fine of 1 million rubles. Three more defendants in the case — Andrey Osnovy, Artur Kamenetsky and Dmitry Leontiev — were sentenced to four and seven years in a penal colony with a fine of 900 thousand rubles.
