Among the regions that may become the opening of the year for tourists are the Vladimir, Kaluga, Tver, Tula, Yaroslavl and Arkhangelsk regions. This was announced on February 19 during a press conference on: "The new tourist season: Russians' plans for 2026" was told by Yuri Barzykin, Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism, at the Izvestia press center.

Starting from March 1, 2026, new rules for booking and checking into hotels will come into effect in Russia. Uniform requirements will apply to all types of accommodation facilities, from hotels and recreation centers to campgrounds. It was clarified that the hotel will be required to wait for the guest during the day: from the moment of scheduled arrival until the check-out time of the next day. The hotel has no right to cancel the reservation before the expiration of this period.
