Blogger Markarian, accused of rehabilitating Nazism, had his arrest extended

The Moscow City Court has extended the arrest of blogger Arsen Markarian, accused of rehabilitating Nazism and insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland. This was reported by a correspondent of Izvestia on February 19.

Markarian will remain in custody until August 9.

According to the investigation, in March 2025, Markarian posted a video on a video hosting site, accessible to an unlimited number of people. The video expressed a contemptuously negative attitude towards the feat and memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matrosov. In addition, Markarian posted a video in one of his messengers justifying Nazism.
