Analysts have identified the most in-demand areas by regions of the Russian Federation in the spring

This spring, Russians have increased their demand for vacations in the Sverdlovsk region and Karachay-Cherkessia. This is evidenced by data from analysts of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service, which was reviewed by Izvestia on February 24.

According to experts, the overall demand for accommodation remained at the level of last year, but the share of domestic trips decreased by 8% and amounted to 45%. Also, compared to last year, the average length of travel and the cost of accommodation have not changed much. Russians book hotels for an average of 3.2 days, and the room price is about 8.9 thousand rubles per day.

St. Petersburg is the most popular destination for spring holidays, accounting for 16.7% of all bookings in the country. This is followed by Krasnodar Krai (15.9%) and Kaliningrad Oblast (5.9%). The top five also included the Republic of Tatarstan (5.8%) and the Moscow Region (2.6%). A year earlier, interest in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories was noticeably higher, while the Moscow region was not among the leaders.

The most significant increase in demand this season was recorded in the Sverdlovsk region — the number of bookings increased by 56%. Interest in Karachay-Cherkessia (+50%) and the Leningrad Region (+45%) also increased. At the same time, Nizhny Novgorod Region (-25%), Stavropol Territory (-20%) and Samara Region (-16%) became less in demand.

According to experts, tourists are planning the longest trips to Sakhalin this spring — an average of five days. Long-term holidays are also booked in Stavropol Krai (4.2 days) and Primorsky Krai (4 days).

Starting from March 2026, all hotels and other accommodation facilities must be entered in a special register.

Starting from March 1, 2026, new rules for booking and checking into hotels will come into effect in Russia. Uniform requirements will apply to all types of accommodation facilities, from hotels and recreation centers to campgrounds. It was clarified that the hotel will be required to wait for the guest during the day: from the moment of scheduled arrival until the check-out time of the next day. The hotel has no right to cancel the reservation before the expiration of this period.
