The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to the flourishing of Nazism in Ukraine
Ukrainian neo-Nazism poses a threat not only to the local population, but also to the entire international community. This was announced on February 19 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
"Today, Ukrainian neo—Nazism poses a threat not only to the local population, but also to the international community as a whole, directly impeding the establishment of peace and stability on the European continent, and building an architecture of equal and indivisible security," TASS quoted Grushko as saying.
According to Grushko, Russia sees that leaders in a number of countries are returning to Nazi practices, but this has "blossomed" most vividly in Ukraine. He stressed that the regime of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had long surpassed "its idols from the Third Reich" in brutality.
"It is significant that the current Bandera fighters are exterminating civilians in the same territories that were occupied by the Nazis, and they are doing this with the same symbols that are now applied to the emblem of the Armed Forces units," the deputy Foreign Minister said.
At the same time, according to him, the West prefers not to notice the atrocities of the Kiev regime. Grushko also noted that Ukrainian neo-Nazism hinders the establishment of peace and stability on the European continent.
The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said on February 16 that Western states had succeeded in making Ukraine European in terms of Nazism. In addition, she noted that Western countries, not the Russian side, carried out a coup and changed the regime in Kiev.
On February 9, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the "Nazi foundations" in Ukraine should be eliminated, as this is a condition for ensuring the security of the Russian Federation. The Russian Foreign Minister added that Russia would not allow the deployment of any types of weapons on the territory of Ukraine, which, according to Moscow, could threaten the interests of Russian security.
