Folklore concerts, theatrical performances and animation programs at venues throughout the capital are waiting for the guests of the Maslenitsa Festival as part of the Winter in Moscow project. This was announced on February 19 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, on the website mos.ru .
"Folklore performances occupy a special place at the festival," the organizers are quoted as saying in the publication.
It is noted that folk melodies in a modern interpretation will be performed on the stages of the festival grounds, folklore groups and neo-folk groups will perform, sports events and master classes will be held.
On February 20, the folk group Rusko will perform Russian melodies on Veshnyakovskaya Street, and on Mitinskaya Street the Cossack ensemble Volnaya Rus will delight the audience with songs and dances with instrumental accompaniment.
Also on February 21, on Klyuchevaya Street, the Paraskeva group will present a bright show in costumes that refer to ancient traditions. The theater program includes productions of the theaters "OZ", "Pulse Show", "Sphere of Light", "Happy People" and "Snowball".
"The venues will host performances for young audiences dedicated to seeing off winter and Carnival adventures," the curators said.
It is specified that young guests will be able to take part in animation programs on Tverskaya Square from 12:00 to 15:40: games, dances, quizzes, master classes and photo sessions with full-length dragon dolls Tosha and Misol.
"The children will bake pancakes together with the characters of the cartoon "Dracoshiya" and help the characters of "Flyaway Delivery," the publication noted.
The Winter in Moscow project unites Muscovites and guests of the capital of all ages, creating conditions for creative development, active recreation and communication, said the mayor of Moscow.
The Chinese New Year in Moscow festival has opened in the capital, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina announced on February 16. The event will last until March 1 and will cover more than 60 venues in the city, including Manezhnaya and Bolotnaya Squares, the Moskino Film Park, the Moscow Zoo and the Muzeon Art Park.
