The United Kingdom has officially opened a representative office of its embassy in Lviv in western Ukraine. This was reported on February 18 on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom.

"The opening of the new office builds on our commitments within the framework of the 100-year partnership between the UK and Ukraine and was an important step demonstrating Britain's strong commitment to developing relations with Ukraine," the publication says.

The number of employees of the new division is not specified.

On February 2, British Defense Minister John Healey confirmed London's allocation of more than 500 million pounds ($682 million) for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), specifying the details of the distribution of these funds. According to him, £150 million ($204 million) of the total amount will be the first British tranche under the PURL program (English — Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, a list of priority requirements of Ukraine).
