The Maslenitsa festival will determine the champions of racing on car simulators
A free virtual car racing tournament, the Grand Prix of the Moscow Sim Racing Seasons, is taking place at 14 venues of the Moscow Maslenitsa Festival, the organizers said. The competitions are held within the framework of the urban project "Winter in Moscow" during the festival period — from February 13 to 22.
There are two professional racing simulators installed on each of the sites — a total of 28 devices in the city. The tournament is divided into three classes depending on the level of preparation of the participants. Beginners compete in the "Practice" category, experienced players compete in the "Pro" category, and the most experienced players compete in the "Masters" class. According to the results of the competition, the top three on each site are determined in the "Practitioner" class, the top five among all participants in the "Pro" class, and the three winners from the total number of competitors in the "Masters" class. Each participant has the right to one race per day.
Participation in the tournament is free, special skills and a driver's license are not required. Visitors from 150 to 210 cm tall are allowed to participate in the competition.
Simulation sites are located in all districts of the city. In the Eastern District, simulators work on Veshnyakovskaya, Svyatoozerskaya, Gorodetskaya streets, as well as in the park near Golyanovsky Pond. In the South-Western district — on the streets of Teply Stan, Admiral Rudnev, Trade Union and Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard. In the Western District — on Matveevskaya Street and Michurinsky Avenue in the Olympic Village. In addition, simulators are installed in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve (Southern Administrative District), Babushkinsky Park (Northern Administrative District), on Glory Square on Volgogradsky Prospekt (Southern Administrative District) and on Aviatsionnaya Street (Northern Administrative District).
The Maslenitsa Festival has been held in Moscow since 2017 as part of the Moscow Seasons series of city events. This year, it is included in the program of the Winter in Moscow project for the second time and covers about 30 sites throughout the city.
