The head of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), Bruno Sassi, in a response to Izvestia on February 18, called the injections of ski jumpers performed by Italian plastic surgeon Alessandro Littara absurd and useless.

The day before, the surgeon, in an interview with Izvestia, reported that some athletes, after intensive training, experienced a temporary decrease in the volume of the penis, which caused them discomfort and awkwardness in the locker room. According to him, some athletes requested injections of hyaluronic acid for aesthetic correction and elimination of this effect.

"This is completely absurd. There has never been any evidence of such a practice in the entire history of ski jumping," Sassi said.

According to him, the only case where such a trick could be useful would be a 3D scan of the body, which is carried out once a season. He clarified that the last such examination took place about six months ago.

On February 14, Austrian athlete Daniel Chofenig was disqualified from competing on the large springboard at the Olympic Games in Italy due to non-compliance with shoe size standards. The violation was revealed after Chofenig secured passage to the finals by placing eighth in the first round. At the same time, the athlete's buv turned out to be four millimeters longer than the established norm.
