The garage amnesty in the Russian Federation was proposed to be extended until September 2031

The State Duma has received for consideration a bill on the further extension of the "garage amnesty" until September 1, 2031. The relevant document was published on February 18 on the Internet portal of the legislative support system.

According to Rosreestr, during the 3.5 years of the law, Russian citizens have registered more than 746 thousand objects, including garages and plots under them. Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, noted that this mechanism allowed citizens to become full owners of their property, protect it from demolition and be able to inherit or sell it.
