The Foreign Ministry warned of a possible response to the growth of British defense spending

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's desire to increase the country's defense spending is fully taken into account by Russian agencies, and counter-pressure tactics are currently being selected. This was announced on February 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, answering a question from Izvestia.

On February 16, Starmer said the government should "accelerate" defense spending. It was noted that the statement by the British Prime Minister underlines London's desire to postpone to an earlier date the date by which the UK will have to spend 3% of GDP on defense.
